Extra-curricular clubs

We are thrilled to let you know about the fantastic range of extra-curricular clubs on offer this term! These clubs are a wonderful chance for children to try new things, develop their talents, and work towards some exciting performances and events.

Here’s what’s on:

✨ After-School Clubs

• Monday 3:15–4:15 pm – StarPrintz Dance with Mrs Walsh
  Building towards a performance at the Chelmsford Civic Theatre in Schools Gotta Dance in June 2026.

• Tuesday 3:15–4:00 pm – Running Club with Mrs Dennis
  A great way to stay fit and active!

• Wednesday 3:15–4:00 pm – Art Club with Mrs Tilley
  Get creative and explore different art techniques.

• Thursday 3:15–4:00 pm – NEW Sports Club with Mr Grant
  A mix of exciting sports across the term!

🎲 Lunchtime Clubs

• Monday – Board Games with Miss Lethbridge (in Class 4 at 12.30pm)
  No need to sign up—just drop in and join the fun.

• Friday – Choir with Mr Grant (in Class 4 at 12.30pm)
  An amazing opportunity to sing with other schools at the Royal Albert Hall in November as part of the Barnardo’s Young Carers Concert!

We would love to see as many children as possible getting involved—whether it’s trying something new, making friends, or preparing for big events, there really is something for everyone!

Leap Pad Activities Club

Leap Pad activities club is run directly by Lynsey Parker-Druce separate from the school clubs (and not related to her empolyment at the school).

Leap Pad runs before school from 8am – 8.30am Monday – Friday. These sessions are charged at £3.00 and £2.00 per sibling.

It also runs after school from 3.15pm – 5.15pm Monday – Friday. These sessions are charged at £3.50 per hour, £2.50 for siblings per hour.

Individual Drum lessons

Private drumming lessons are run by George Krethlow Shaw our external Drum Tutor. 

They are available on a Tuesday during the school days and are charged at £7 per 15 minutes.

Please note that all inquires regarding outside agency led clubs must be made directly to the club contact and not the school office. 

If your child is not attending, for any reason, please contact the club directly to notify them. 

If the club is cancelled, it is the responsibility of the club to communicate this with parents. 

Once your child has been dismissed from Woodham Walter Academy to the care of the outside agency, as per your private arrangement with them, they become the responsibility of the outside agency / club. 

The school are unable to share any of your contact or personal details with any outside agencies, so please ensure that you keep them up to date with any details they may require regarding your child, in case of an emergency.
